Condition: 235 x 155mm untrimmed. Light dustsoiling.
Binding: Original plain pastepaper wrappers.
First edition; a copy in the Smithsonian is dated 1817 but is apparently otherwise identical.

A well illustrated description of the construction and use of Maissiat's improved theodolite and other surveying and drawing instruments, with a short history of the mariner's compass. A note at the end of the text advertises that the two grammomètres described are manufactured by Lenoir, the leading French scientific instrument maker of the time.
