Half sheet broadside, type area 259 x 151mm, leaf 327 x 212mm, deckle edges on 3 sides, docket title on verso ‘An account of endowments’. Arms of Amsterdam watermark. Old folds, some spotting, but a good fresh copy with deep type-impression.
Bibliography: ESTC T12672 (British Library only) suggests a date of 1725, Hanson 3869 (also locating only the BL copy) suggests 1728.

The church rate was a tax levied by each parish for the maintenance of the parish church. This broadside details the rates payable on houses in 8 parishes in and around London. The rector of Covent Garden, for example, has ‘Instead of a Glebe ... a Rent-Charge of 100l. per annum issuing out of several houses’, plus £150 from a pound rate, his curate £50 and the clerk and two sextons another £50. Whearas in Shadwell the rector has £120 plus a house and glebe.
