A receipt for the eighth part of Faraday’s Experimental Researches in Electricity, probably an offprint. Faraday’s researches announcing the discovery of electromagnetic induction were published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society in 29 parts between 1831 and 1852 and reprinted in 3 volumes, 1839, 1844 and 1855. The receipt is signed by the physiologist Marie-Jean-Pierre Flourens (1794–1867), who had been appointed Secrétaire perpétuel pour les sciences physiques in August 1833, and together with Arago, founded the Comptes Rendus.
