A splended assemblage of academical disputations (or dissertations) defended at Louvain University, mostly on legal topics, and congratulatory verses. For each of the disputations the name of the student obtaining his degree is given at the end, with his place of origin and the date of his defence. The volume was assembled and owned by one of these students, Joannes Judocus Duermael from Ghent who defended his thesis at 2pm on 15 April 1728. Following the series of disputations are pamphlets containing verses address to Gregorio Duermael, presumably a relative of the student.
The first four pamphlets contain legal theses, followed by the three works addressed to Duermael, while the last relates to a philosophy course, with sections ‘Logica’; ‘Physica’; and ‘Metaphysica’.
None of these publications is recorded in OCLC.
